Bryn Mawr College is a women's liberal arts college in Pennsylvania, founded in 1885. Bryn Mawr College approached us with the simple ask of creating a sting animation to use at the end of their promotional materials. The goal was to create an animation that honored elements the client considered integral to life at Bryn Mawr College. After thorough concept exploration, we landed on incorporating the iconic college arch ways and real audio from the campus bell. The result is a smooth animation that utilizes all brand elements in quick succession but lingers long enough to still be legible.
MASCOT REDESIGN
The next challenge Bryn Mawr College came to us with was a re-design of their beloved mascot Olly. The goal was to create a fully-realized vector version of their mascot for promotional usage. I worked from a slightly crude drawing and photos of Olly the mascot in all their glory. I began with sketches that expressed Olly's friendly nature and went against the typical macho, puffed-out chest design of their peers. After a few weeks, we landed on an illustration of Olly, mid-stride, waving to their fans and opponents.
